High School Social Studies

Aplington-Parkersburg Community School District is looking for a Social Studies Teacher for the 26-27 school year that would teach half day at the high school and also could pair this with Middle School Social Studies or stay in the high school if you have a special education endorsement. Exact classes to be taught are yet to be determined. This position is open due to a retirement of a Social Studies and Special Education Teacher. A-P High school is in Parkersburg, A-P Middle School is located in Aplington 6 miles apart.

Interested Candiates should have an Iowa Teaching License and able to teach All Social Sciences at the high school. Aplington-Parkersburg also has multiple coaching openings that we will look to pair with this position.

Head High School Football Coach, Junior High Football Coach, Middle School Volleyball, Middle School Girls Basketball are positions we are looking to fill for the 26-27 school year.

The Aplington-Parkersburg Community Schools will have the following coaching openings for the 2025-2026 school year. Aplington-Parkersburg has a rich athletic history and a strong tradition. We are in search of energetic, motivated coaches who are as mindful about mentoring young adults as having success and winning. Coaches should be team players and encourage athletes to be involved in multiple sports, work well with other coaches and have a passion.Interested Candidates should contact Carter Hoff. High School Special Education

Aplington-Parkersburg Community School District is searching for a Special Education Teacher to join our team for the 26-27 school year. A Strat II license would be an added bonus but not a requirement. A familiarity of writing IEP's and working with the Achieve program is prefered. Aplington-Parkesburg Community Schools is located 20 miles West of Cedar Falls, Iowa.

Candidate must have a heart to work with young people and see them grow and develop. They must be able to communicate and work well with general education staff for the growth of the young people they serve. Aplington-Parkersburg integrates students into the general education setting whenever possible. A-P has done some coaching teaching but also uses Para Eduators to assist students in the general education setting where the special education teacher works with the students on their academic goal areas and skills.

This position could be half time Special Education and half time Social Studies if the candidate was endorsed to teach in both content areas.

High School Special Education Para-Educator

Aplington-Parkersburg High School is looking to hire a special education para-educator immediately. Applicant will go into general education classrooms and assist students with an IEP. This person will work closely with our special education teachers along with our general education teachers.
